I am a language teacher and a linguist.  I have been teaching and working as a linguist consultant in Spain and abroad (USA and Mexico). I graduated in English Philology at UCM and I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate (DEA) in English Studies, Cognition and Interculturality.

Research

I am currently carrying out a contrastive study of the use of the  APPETIZING FOOD metaphor to conceptualize attraction in Peninsular Spanish and British English.

This project is framed within Conceptual Metaphor Theory (Lakoff & Johnson, 1980) and in its extended version (Kövecses 2020). We approach metaphor as a cognitive process by which we construct knowledge and use in our interactions with the reality that surrounds us.
